Hello, Stop Talking to your Body like It is Useless and Ugly and expecting it to change

one of the common reasons we are stuck on a cycle of losing weight and overeating to giving up

I have been studying self-compassion for the past week,

and one of the common insist I got is self-talk, how you talk to yourself, says a lot about how you are going to change,

when you fall out of your routine do you sit and say to yourself, well, it is not worth it, I am not worth it, I am useless,

how does that sound reading out loud or in your mind, not so good right?

yet you say a lot of negative things about your body, and expect it to change

It’s like saying to a child I will only love you when you’re absolutely perfect and until then I will ridicule you, disrespect you, be ashamed of you and deem you completely unworthy but yet still expect you to show up for me and change in exactly the way I want you to.

Do we think a better approach might be to support the child/ yourself with love, care, understanding, patience & compassion?

Just some food for thought.. you may want to be kinder to your body if you want to change.

Changing because you love & respect yourself and because you deserve it feels very different from trying to hate yourself into change which hardly works and never feels good.

you can accept yourself & love yourself the way you are and still want to change —

we have somehow stayed in this mindset that you either love who you are and stay that way or you hate yourself and want to change

who says you can not love who you are and still want to change

You are taking care of yourself because you deserve it, and you are worth the investment, time, care, and effort…your body, your yourself, you don't come last

Start telling yourself that.
