Why Your Diets Fail

I had no problem dieting when I was on a constant rinse and repeat with my diet. That’s the easy part

the hard part was the part where I couldn’t control my hunger, and I would go on this eating spree, just consuming everything and anything I could lay my hands on

why diets fail

I remember going from super skinny to overweight on one occasion. Every morning I woke up, I would first check my body in the mirror, and I hated every bit of it and even felt worse on the inside; I felt like I couldn’t do anything right, just diet

I would see my before, and after photos of people on the internet heck, I would look at my own before and after and see that I look nothing like the after,

and that would make me break down, so I hid from the world.

I stopped taking a picture until another round of the diet.

I told myself the hard truth that this was not sustainable, and I started doing my research. I found something called the settling point theory, and it just made sense; the body adapts.

The theory teaches that your body keeps you alive no matter what, so when you drastically reduce your calorie intake, it adapts and adjusts to the new amount of energy.

When the energy is low, it automatically slows down your metabolism, and your energy output slows down without your recognizing it

you start to sit down more and move less, you blink less, you stop fidgeting as much, and you slow down your pace, you lie down for a long, and those are ways your body burns energy during the day

adding to the fact that you plateau, your stress hormones levels go up, and your appetite hormones (leptin) go up, and when you finally break and start to eat, you can’t stop because your body is trying to bring in energy as much as it can and won’t stop until you regain back you average fat level or more

diets fail as a result of drastic cuts in calories that leave your body looking for ways to

there is so much more I would like to share on this topic. Subscribe to my newsletter and i will notify you when I publish my insight on diets, how to make it work, what you are doing wrong, and so much more
